Thank you.
I followed the repair instructions. On the Add or Remove Programs window, there were two AVG icons. I repaired both, rebooting after each repair.
Upon the second reboot, the AV window appeared twice! On subsequent reboots, the window still appeared, but once. Also, tailored desktop properties were changed as a result of the process.
No, the problem is not fixed. NOTE: This is not a problem with the x64 version on my Windows 7 PC, only with the x32 version on my wife's Windows XP PC.
Thank you for providing the screenshot.
We request you perform repair of AVG free program once by following the instructions as mentioned in this article: http://avgread.me/1BVxDSY and check whether the issue persists.
Windows XP SP3
AVG Free 2016 (x32) 16.131.7924
This is my wife's PC. (Yes, I know it is old; but it still performs the tasks my wife wants.) When she boots up her PC, she gets a Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) window for [C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\AVG], showing folder AV. What can she do to stop this?
