I have the same issue with the infamous Watch Dog Initialization. I am running Windows 10 and yesterday AVG updated itself. The program boasted as to how it was "calling things for what they were." I noticed they changed the labels on the interface but didn't think much of it at the time. See, I have been a customer since approximately 2007 (move earlier). Back then the AVG was a slightly clunky, but very reliable protection software. That is no longer the case.
We just had a massive power outage in Puerto Rico, which put me out of business for three days. I am an attorney with an electrical engineering background. Your answers to this particular issue have been grossly concocted-by-management CYA BS. People trusted you with their personal information and with the fruits of their hard work because you said you could make things safer. Instead of protecting users against mal water, your product has indeed become a very nasty, loopy, obstinate virus. The irony is almost too much for me to bear. I hope I get my equipment back on and as soon as I do, I will post a very thorough account of my ordeal.
