Hello

I have AVG Internet Security. I ran a Deep Scan and it tells me it has found 1 unsecured threat
Rootkit
C:\Windows\Logs\waasmedic\waasmedic.20190815_110337_020.etl

I googled and found that Waasmedic is a component of Windows 10. It is a Windows Update component that is run in the background for the purpose of repairing Windows Update should it get damaged or corrupted.

Is it a legit component or a trojan?

Thank you.

I have clicked on 'Resolve' and ran the scan again. It comes up clean. Should I not have done it?

Well, it is the component introduced in windows 10 that would help to repair the windows update service, if it doesn't work properly.
You can check on the path mentioned in the deep scan threat result and check whether the file is still present.
If not, we request you to contact Microsoft and inquire whether there are chances to get back that particular file.
