Let's work together to resolve this. Did you receive any error message when you try to use AVG Clear and Remover tools to uninstall AVG? If you have not tried yet, please run these tools in safe mode. Please uninstall if you have any other anti virus program installed on your PC.
I need help with my free AVG antivirus. Three days ago I tried to run my normal scan, the AVG icon wouldn't open. I tried various suggestions from using safe mode, start up, AVG remover tool, AVG clear tool etc, uninstalling/installing nothing has worked. It looks like I am locked out of any access to my AVG product, which is making me think it's a virus.
It seems impossible to remove AVG antivirus, even had Microsoft guru trying to help.
I have noticed similar problems from those in the AVG community. Can anyone help me resolve this issue as it is impacting massively on my laptop usage. Thanks.

Hi Avinash, there is no error message when I try either of those tools. When I go to Windows Defender to check for security issues, it tells me there is a problem with AVG. It also says "Your IT administrator has limited access to some areas of this app and the item you tried to access is not available. Contact IT helpdesk for more information." AVG shows it's still in the installed programs, but seems to be locked/frozen as I am unable to uninstall or make any changes as I am not authorised?
