Free AVG blocking a program

Thank you for your quick reply Karthikeyan

When I disabled AVG, the program worked.  On enabling it again and checking, it does not allow the programme to work, giving me the same error message and also showing an AVG screen

“We’ve just protected your file.  Easy Th… is trying to change or delete the file (naming my photo folder) in your protected documents folder.  What would you like to do?  Block App.  Allow App.

Clicking Allow App does not make any difference.

Some time ago AVG threw a message about my photography program Easythumbs.  I clocked on something like 'not now' to continue and Easythumbs can no longer be used.  How can I whitelist this program to use it again please?

Compents gave we a list starting with File shield then Behavior shield.  I tiried turning off each of these two, and Easythumbs worked.  BUT I then went back to tries when both were turned on, and Easythumbs again worked.  AVG is definately turned back on.

Appreciate your efforts.
Do you mean the Easythumbs application is working fine now even with AVG protection turned on? If yes, an automatic update in AVG should have fixed the issue.

I'm glad to hear that your issue is resolved. I appreciate your time and co-operation.

Thank you for the detailed information.

Do you have free or trial version of AVG Internet Security installed?

If you have trial version, open AVG Internet Security, click on Menu ▸ Ransomware Protection.

From here select "Allow/Block" list and from the block list, remove the application listed.

Close the AVG window and check if you are able to access this application.

Hello Judy,

We will work together to sort this out.

Please disable AVG temporarily on your computer and check if you are able to access this application.

To disable AVG temporarily, please right click on the AVG icon present at the bottom right corner of your desktop(System Tray) and click on the toggle switch to "Disable Protection".

I am using the free version Karthikeyan.
