Free AVG keeps crashing at 77%

Provide us your MAC OS version http://https//support.apple.com/en-us/HT201260 and the version of AVG you have installed. To find out the version you can follow user manual, part 4.3. Menu in the task bar

I downloaded free AVG a few days ago and it crashed on its first scan at 77%. I started the scan several times and got the same result. I uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times and the same thing is happening. I have macbook air

Sorry to hear that the installation got failed. Are you trying to install AVG Antivirus free on windows device? Do you have any other conflicting security programs such as McAfee, Norton or Kaspersky installed on your device? If so, please uninstall them and remove the traces of AVG as suggested in this artcile. 
Note: Run AVG Clear first. Go to our official website: https://www.avg.com/en-us/download and download your required product. Let us know if you face any difficulties or you need help with MAC OS.

In this case, it is necessary for us to analyze AVG log files for which an email instruction has been sent.
If the email is not found in inbox do check in spam and junk folders.
