Hi, again! Today I have done as you propose above: 1. Download and run the Remover tool and I can inform you that this tool did not altogether do it's work. Some AVG files were still there - in the c:\ProgramData directory. Files starting with Avg_Update_*. I hope they will not mess up things for me. I cannot remove them.
2. Installed your product from the link above the x64 variant.
And now everything is working properly!
One more question: Is this not your official download web-site? This was the one I used when the problem started. http://www.avg.com/ww-en/thank-you?product=gsr&build=ppc_freegsr-1025 Regards, Lotta
Hi! Suddenly the free AVG stopped working with the error message: "avguixi.exe system error. The MSVCP110.dll/MSVCR110.dll program is missing". 1. I've tried to uninstall the product - without succesful result. Both in Windows 10, system properties and with your "Remove installation 64 bits" from your support official web site. The error messages keep on poping up at start up of computer! 3. I've tried to reinstall from you offical website with following error message: "Installation failed … error code: 0xC0070643" … What shall I do now? Apart from stop using your product - and start using another? Regards, Lotta

Hi! I know that I can have only one antivirus at the same time!! Now I have Avast - as I told you above. And I know that I have a x64 bits processor!!! And I have used your official download web page - of course. But anyway - as I told you before it is/was a Visual C++ system file error. Either your software or Microsofts latest update on 6th of January caused the problem i.e. the corrupt/missing .dll files. Four your information: I've done as Microsoft support proposed: 1. Installed latest version of Visula C++ 2012 for x64 AND x86 (x32) 2. Removed and installed the same software for 2010 - x64 AND x86 (x32) 3. Uninstalled the malfunctioning software (Microsoft Essentials 2012in this case) … and this fixed this problem! BUT I have still not changed back to AVG Antivirus!! So I don't know for the moment if it is working! I will do this soon - not today - for the moment I've had enough of troubles ;-). If you are interested I can let you know the result! Regards, Lotta
Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Do you have any other third party antivirus program installed on your PC? Did you get as "Description: Event exec finished" error while installing AVG?
Questions: Ok - but why should I not install AVG Zen? Is that a problem? And - if the official download installation file (with Zen) is used - how does that determine whether I have a x86/x32 or x64 processor?
Today when I look on my hard disk I could see that I have AVG stored in the directory Program Files (x86)??? Why? "Yesterday" i.e. before removal and re-installation - I had AVG stored in Program Files AND Program Files (x86)!! Why? This is really confusing …
Ahhh - good - great! Thank you! That explains things for me! So an x64 processor can coop with 32 bit words as well as 64 bit words but not the other way around I suppose. Yes - and having a look a the processes running on my computer I can see that there are lots of x32 processes!! Thank you for your patience with me! Lotta
