I downloaded the AVG Free version about a month ago. Now it tells me my subscription has expired. Does the free version expire?
Hi Jim,
We're glad to clarify this for you.
From your description, it seems that you've downloaded, installed the free trial of AVG (which would be valid for 30 days). Hence, you might be receiving the expiry notification.
However, AVG Free doesn't have any validity & it can be used as a perpetual program. Sometimes, the program might say that it is valid for 365 days. After it expires, 365 days would be automatically added or you can manually reinstall to get the AVG Free Antivirus.
In your case, you can try to switch to AVG Free version by following these steps : Go to control panel - Right click on AVG - Select Uninstall - In the setup wizard (left pane), check if you get the option to switch to free.
If not, you can proceed to uninstall through the setup wizard & reinstall AVG Free Antivirus.
Thank you for your understanding in advance!
