Full Refund Denied

Have I been cheated? I subscribed to a 2-year subscription to Secure Identity (and 6 other 2-year AVG subscriptions). I've never been able to use Secure Identity. More than 30 days after my subscription to Secure Identity I discovered that I must inform AVG of my Social Security Number to AVG before I can use Secure Identity, NEVER email your SS number via the Internet!  After being given the run around many times by AVG, they emailed that I must pay in full for one year because I did request a refund within 30 days of the start of my subscription, and therefore I violated my License Agreement. Why does AVG respond to justified requests for refunds by saying there will be NO REFUND, but AVG will apply the requested refund by extending the duration of another AVG subscription?
