Full scan still running after 2 days

First-time scan (scanning all files) has been stuck on 58% for over 12 hours (and the entire scan has been running for 2 days).  3 million objects scanned so far - this number is continually increasing (It's working on ~/Library/Application Support at the moment.). Is it supposed to take this long or is something likely to be wrong?
