Full screen alerts

For the last 3 days I have had full screen alerts that I have a virus and need to scan to remove it.  I check with my paid AVG protection and nothing has been in the vault or no alerts when scanned.  I am also getting a full screen to update Chrome.  Chrome is up to date…I have checked history and the log shows items of 2015.  I see there is no way to reactivate the new protection.  It just says reactivate but won't.  I have kept everything up to date and even went into Control Panel and repaired AVG as suggested yesterday…  My computer whines and acts like it is logged down when on the internet…  Getting very tired of this…  I have paid for the two years that expires in 2019…  So disappointed with AVG at this point.
