Hi
Ive been having issues with AVG stopping Gemalto Card reader from working.Ive unsinstalled both and reinstalled Gemalto it then works until I re-install AVG Free.
I read somewhere that I can adjust AVG to allow it to run but Ive tired adding the website to the allow trusted section of avg with no success.I think the fix was to stop AVG running a particular type of virus process like "heuristic" or something along those lines.
Any one else seen these issues?
Regards
Charlie
If you are still getting the error when the AVG protection is disabled, then AVG is not causing this issue, Charlie
In this case, I request you to contact the respective support to help you in this.
Thank you.
Hi Chris,
We will help you in this.
Could you share us the screenshot of the flagged message you get from the AVG regarding the Gemalto Card reader?
Refer this article for the steps to capture the screenshot : https://bit.ly/2Y6RCDP

Chris, thank you for explaining the situation with a screenshot.
The poorly rated browser add-ons scan on AVG, just shows the status of low rated add-ons on your browsers.
It shouldn't be the reason for error to appear on Barclays website.
Could you disable individual components on AVG Antivirus free as mentioned in this article and check whether error appears for website.
Have tried disabling all components and each component separately of AVG. In all cases the same error message appears.

Hello Charlie,
I understand the inconvenience.
If a software is blocked by AVG Antivirus then it is necessary to add its installed path to AVG 's exception list.
Open AVG Antivirus free dashboard and click on "Menu–>Settings–>General"
To the right General, you will have Exceptions, click on it and browse the path for "Gemalto card reader" .
Add it to exception and check whether you are able to use the application.
Worth noting I think that the Gemalto application works immediately after downloading but once the computer is restarted the fault reappears
