General enquiry about account

Hi, Susan. An AVG Account is a single place to manage all your purchased licenses across desktop and mobile. With AVG Free, you don't really need to have an AVG account. Later on, when you upgrade to AVG Internet Security, you can add that to your current AVG Account to keep track of the license.

Also, that is interesting about the US Flag versus detecting that you are in the UK. I will pass that on to the web team.

Do I need a avg account? I discovered avg had been emailing me and I managed to create a new account, I think, because could not remember log in details but now I wonder if my original account was linked to my currently free avg protection. I cant find any software related information in my account and cant find my email linked in my free software protection, so am a bit confused. I am not sure now if I managed to update my original account details or if I just created new, and I cant remember how or why I have got an AVG account when I have only installed the free version, which I am very happy with and am considering to buy the protection but just cant afford right now. I was using Norton, which I paid for but it caused no end of problems in my pc performance that I chose AVG free protection and my pc has been good ever since, I had still about six months left of my paid Norton product at the time but just did not get on with it. I am now just curious to know if I need an account with AVG, or if it ought to be linked to my current AVG protection? Thanks for any advice in reply. P.S. I live in uk but this web site shows America flag, I think UK pcs and software are different to the USA.
