Hi Maurice, could you paste the text of the PC issues message in your next post? If AVG was already installed when you updated from Windows 8 to 8.1, then you may need to uninstall/reinstall AVG.

I have not had the message since i wrote! The computer is new so the AVG protection is the only thing i have loaded. However there are two AVG icons in the software list. One is labelled AVG above the icon and AVG 2015 next to the icon. The other is labelled AVG Zen with just AVG next to the icon.

I'm running AVG Protection 2015 and if I open the AVG page it says that everything is running OK. However I keep getting PC issues messages from my computer which say that the AVG software in not compatable with Windows 8.1. Is this a problem or should I ignore it?
