Thank you for your reply which is appreciated. I do realise that I should have copied the Bookmarks etc but in the frustration of the moment simply did not think of it . i would add though that before uninjstalling I did contact support who recommended the action  but said nothing to remind me to backj up etc .
I am aware of the import/export process and blame myself for not thinking of it.
As far as Password Protection is secured, I do not like handing my computer over to remote access  even to a Security company and so will do without , thank you .
My conversation with support originated because my Internet Security programme repeatedly tunrs of the computer protection element when I shiut down at night and i have to check it every morning to turn ut on again. It was suggested I should re-enter the access code. I did that and it worked . Once! Now I am back to checking it again every day . Disappointing and not very impressive .

Hello Robert.
Thank you for reaching us here with your concerns.

We regret to hear about the inconvenience caused to you in recovering the bookmarks. Unfortunately, backing up the browser data to cloud is not an option yet. But if you had to reinstall AVG Secure Browser in future for any reason, we'd request you to export the bookmarks to an HTML file first and then uninstall. After reinstalling, you can import the bookmarks again using the HTML file.

Please follow steps below to export and import the bookmarks:

1. Double-click the AVG Secure Browser icon on your Windows desktop to open the browser.
2. Click ⋮ Menu (three dots) in the top-right corner and select Bookmarks ▸Bookmark manager.
3. On Bookmarks Manager window, click ⋮ Menu (three dots) at the top right hand side and then select “Export Bookmarks.”
4. Choose a location on your PC to save the HTML file.

You can import the bookmarks as described in this support article: https://bit.ly/3oCv4a6

Regarding the AVG Password Protection issue, we'd like to offer you a free remote assistance service to install and activate AVG Password Protection on your PC.

tHANKS AGAIN ,

This is more in the  nature of comment than a support request.
Yesterday my AVG Browser crashed and would not respond to restarts or any other attempted solution. Eventually i had to uninstall and reinstall and spent the rest of the day recovering or reentering all my favourites etc. Not your fault but damned annoying and time consuming maybe some sort of centrally held cloud attached to one's account might solve such difficulties.
Further, I attempted to install the Password element of Internet Security which according to my subscriptions is paid for and has most of a year to run. This involved the installation process apparently running, then requiring a Restart, then informing that my subscription was cancelled. I went through this proces about 4/5 times with always the same result. In the end I gave up in frustration. I think though that if this product is not available to me for some reason then you should refund me.
What you cannot do of course is refund the time and frustration.
Also I have had an email offering a free trial of Internet Security. Why? It only confuses things and such offers would be far more appreciated if taken accout of and the time of renewal .
Best Regards

Hello Robert.
We are sorry to hear about the inconvenience caused. This issue is probably caused by Password Protection component not activated yet. To resolve this, we have to remove the activation code completely and reactivate.

We certainly understand your hesitation to have a remote assistance but LogMeIn is a secure desktop remote tool through which we can securely access your computer and perform the necessary tasks to fix the issue.

You can see our live session and chat with me. If you feel your privacy is being compromised, please feel free to revoke the remote desktop permission at any point of time by just clicking "X" mark in the right top corner of the chat window.

Happy to help, Robert.
Keep us updated.

Many thanks i will do it as soon as i can . Much appreciate your time

You are welcome, Robert.
Please do reach us if you have any concern with AVG.
Thank you.
