Hello Markus,
I certainly understand your concern but for your information any antivirus program do need the regular program and virus definitions updates. Only if these are done the antivirus program can protect your PC from all the latest threats and viruses. The same concept goes for our AVG antivirus program. So in your case, I guess you haven't done the updates for a long period or ignored some updates that is prompted by AVG and that is the reason your components of AVG would have become red in color which means it is totally inactive and needs to be updated or repaired soon.
I request you to do the repair installation of AVG program by following the instructions mentioned in this link: http://avgread.me/1BVxDSY and then check whether you have any issue. It is not recommended to turn of the updates of the AVG program and that is the reason we don't have the option to disable the updates of our program.
Hello guys,
I'm really annoyed by the "REPAIR AVG NOW! *red warning signs*" warnings if I change some settings. I don't want it to update on schedule, I don't want Internet protection, I'd just like to have my files scanned. Is it possible to get rid of those warnings?
What sense does it make to offer a setting that will be recognized as a failure afterwards?
Or does anyone have a tip for another software that's adjustable so, that it just scans my files and leaves me alone so I get shit done?
Thanks a lot!
regards

However, you can stop the update of AVG program on your system startup. Please open the AVG program–> click on Options–> Select Advanced Settings–> To the left, select update–> To the right, you can find an option with check box for the startup update–> Please untick it so that AVG program won't perform on system startup.
Please feel free to contact us should you need any assistance.
Thanks for your fast answer. I just wanted to deactivate automatic updates because I need full resources most of the time. I'm starting updates manually nearly every day.
Guess I'll have to live with those warnings.
