Getting AVG popups after uninstall

Hello Eddie,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
If you have our AVG free antivirus program installed, you will be getting the campaign popups to try our latest version of AVG programs and our free browser add-ons.
We request you to try disabling the Advisory Notification of AVG program and check whether you get the popup again.
1. Open AVG program.
2. Click "Options" on the right top corner and select "Advanced Settings".
3. Select Appearance on the left panel of the settings. 4. Please uncheck the checkbox "AVG Advisor Notification" .
5. Then in left side please look for Privacy Preference and select it.
6. Now please untick first option in right side.
7. Click "Ok" to save the changes.

I was using the AVG Free Antivirus for the last couple of months since I upgraded to Windows 10. I became disillusioned with it rather quickly because of all the popups, and it doing what it wanted without my approval. I removed the software a couple of weeks ago. I have over the last couple of days received popup notifications to protect my system and/or browser. I do not want the AVG Software and especially not the popups, which is the main reason I unistalled the software. Please let me know what steps I need to take to remove this as you have now become malware in my opinion.

Eddie, Did you download & run the AVG Remover tool (http://www.avg.com/tools#tba2)?.
AVG Guru

Obviously you did not read my entire post. I have uninstalled all AVG software from my system (as far as I can tell), and I am still getting popups. Last night I was playing a game when I was bumped out of the game due to a notification from AVG about updating/installing the web protection service. I looked through my installed apps on Windows 10, and there is nothing that says it is from AVG. I am wondering why AVG would insinuate itself into my computer so that it still gives me popup notifications even after I have unistalled all of its components. This looks exactly like the behavior of a virus to me. You should fix this so that when you use the unistall feature in the program, it removes all instances of AVG software or at least gives the option to do so.

Eddie, I am sorry, it's my mistake.
Could you please let us know whether you have run our AVG remover tool once?
