I noticed that our free AVG Internet Security system was saying that our router password was not secure enough. After some time trying to input our username and password and getting nowhere, I hopped on to Xfinity, who said we did, indeed, need to update our password. So I changed it and scanned again. Again, it was nlong enough for AVG's liking. Again, it prompted me to put in a username and password to get into Xfinity to change it. Again, it refused the username and password I'd just used to log into my Xfinity account to change it the first time. This has to be a glitch in the system. I will change it from the Xfinity side to protect us. But, when I approached AVG for support, they said I had to be a paid subscriber to get support. Obviously, if we could afford to take on any more subscriptions in this economic climate, we already would have as our family has used AVG for years for all of our computer's security needs. Moreover, I was alerting them to a problem I was having with their software's ability to communicate with other networks. I do not see why I should pay to alert them to a glitch in their software and not just use another service that is equally free, does virtually the same thing and does provide technical support. Already AVG sends me push notifications daily for various AVG products we do not have the money to splurge on. It is what it is. I have never used the community forum before, and I will leave AVG alone for a few days in the hopes that one of you may know what is wrong and be able to tell me either that it has been fixed or how to fix it on my end. Otherwise, I see no point in keeping the service, if service is not something they will provide when their own software is acting up, and certainly see no point in paying for other subscriptions from them.
