Hi -- this is what I typed out in the Support window asking what my question was. Beyond grateful that I copied it before I was then directed here, Thanks bunches, AVG.
Thanks for any help!!!!!
I just discovered that ALL my saved passwords on Google are inaccessible when I open pages on my PC. The only thing I've done new is install AVG (free.). I have a new PC, and used AVG before. But my new HP came with a month free of McAvee, so I didn't immediately install AVG.
I was SO RELIEVED that my new PC miraculously knew all my passwords. For a month, it was great.
Now I can't access any of them. Every page opens with blank name and PW fields.
They still exist if I go to passwords.google.com.
But they no longer are attached to my Chrome browser settings.
When trying to search for a fix, I discovered that I also no longer have access to my Google account up in the top right corner???
Every fix I see for restoring lost passwords starts with clicking up there, where it always used to be on my old PC. Instead I just have a ton of AVG dropdowns where the Google dropdowns used to be.
WHAT ON EARTH HAPPENED?
I've lost two hours of my life already on this.
PLEASE help me with my passwords, and also how to get into to my google account without opening myaccount.google.com. Every search I do about "can't sign in" starts by clicking the missing drop-down in the top right,

I think this lost-passwords problem is related to the fact that the three menu dots on the top right no longer open the drop-down options that are assiociated with my Google Chrome browser. They've been replaced with the AVG menu drop-down instead. When I had my month of free McAfee, my Google menu was stil right where it belonged. And every page I went to knew my passwords. Now I have to literally open a Google page from inside my Chrome browser to access any of the Google programs (my calendar, gmail etc) that should be accessible on the top right… And to see my stored paswords, which are not lost simply not easily available, I have to open a link on that Google page to see the huge list. My old PC that died late last year ran AVG without these problems, with an older OS. This is NOT a Google problem. This was caused by my installation of AVG! I found an older question on this forum from somebody else with the identcal problem. Thanks for any help, otherwise I'll be forced to uninstall AVG and switch to another app.
