Hi, I have had a problem with using my internet browser Google Chrome since my last subscription renewal to AVG. It is mainly when I need to get to payment information, like paypal, my work payslips, and now I am trying to buy an online game for my daughter. For paypal the page says my browser needs to be updated, but it has been updated. For the other things, it opens the page saying the page is missing or deleted. I can do it all on my phone however, except the game download. I think the problem is my firewall settings, but I have no idea how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Hi Susan.
We'll be glad to look in to this.
Are you experiencing this when tried in a different web browser (Firefox or Microsoft Edge)? If the websites works fine on other web browser, it could also be an issue with Chrome.
To narrow down the issue to AVG, please disable each component in AVG Internet Security and verify the issue.
Click this link for steps to disable each AVG component individually. If the issue persists upon disabling all components in AVG Internet Security, we can make sure it is not causing it.
I also see that you have active subscriptions for AVG AntiTrack and AVG Secure VPN. Do you have them installed on your PC?
If you do, I'd request you to do the same with these products too.
Open AVG Secure VPN, turn off the VPN connection by dragging the On/Off button on main interface to your left.
To disable AVG AntiTrack, open the program, click Settings in the left pane.
Click 'Enabled tracking detection' to disable this feature.
Then try to load the websites and verify the issue.
