Sorry, it doesn't seem to be you.

I'm very wary of turning off AVG, but I disabled "Computer" & "Web" & tried loading Google Earth again. As before, it began it's set-up, but as the globe spun round to my home setting, it vanished - again.
I quickly reset AVG to on.

I'd better try Google themselves. It just seemed to fit with your major update.
