I got a pop up from AVG Internet Security saying that Windows Defender file MsMpEng.exe was trying to access my Google Browser Passwords, did I want to block this App.

I said yes to block it…  But, why would Windows Defender be trying to access my Google Browser Passwords? And does AVG also access my Google Chrome Passwords?

Appreciate your efforts in sharing us the screenshot, Paul.
Upon checking it, we see that Windows Defender has attempted to scan the passwords stored in Firefox, which has been detected by AVG Password protection.
Upon researching, MsMpEng.exe is a core process of Windows Defender, which is Microsoft's antispyware utility. It scans downloaded files for spyware; if any suspicious items are found, it can quarantine or remove them. You can block app to avoid receiving the notification in future.
