This is the normal behavior and the reason is, Gutmann method performs the largest number of passes over the data in comparison with other methods.
If the file has no fragmentation, then the double amount of files is displayed
For example: 1 for the file itself and 2 for the overwrite).

Thank you for reporting this to us. Please share the screenshot of recycle bin and the screenshot of 85 files that are shown in Gutmann method. This will help us to check and escalate accordingly.

I was wondering why when I shred the recycle bin using the Gutmann Method, it lists 85 files, when there is only 2 in the bin. Is there someone who can explain this. I don't want to shred any needed files
by accident.

Thank you for providing screenshot. I see that the recycle bin contains a folder. Is there a chance that the folder contains many files in it? Please try to provide separate screenshots for recycle bin and Gutmann to assist further.
