How can I remove the notification from GWXUX about Windows 10?
I MOST definitely do NOT want this notification.
It showed up during last update and I cannot find a way to remove it.
I blocked GWXUX access to the all sites.
I customized the Notification area to hide the icon and notifications.
It keeps ignoring these and keeps re-appearing every time I reboot.
Have Windows 7 Home Premium and am logged in as administrator.
Have AVG version 2015.0.6037
Toolbar version 18.5.0.909
Hello Tim. For your information GWXUX means that there is an issue with the "Get Windows 10" app that is used to check compatibility and reserve the upgrade. It's not mandatory to have it installed to reserve (can be done in Windows Update as well).
Please follow the below instructions to turn it off:
1) Open Task Scheduler and navigate to Microsoft > Windows > Setup > gwx.
2) Disable the two tasks in the GWX folder.
3) Reboot.
