We're glad to look into this & clarify.
Sometimes, this might happen if few services are unable to initiate or due to the presence of other security software.
In this regard, we'd suggest you to check & remove the other antivirus, if any installed.
If not, please try repairing AVG program once & check if it helps.

Hacker's protection keeps turning off randomly. Also at startup I have to manually turn it on.  I have to keep checking AVG so I can turn it on while using my computer.  Please help!.thanks

Intel precessor core i7 2.80Ghz
