Had to uninstall AVG's VPN

Hello Carolyn.
We regret to hear about the inconvenience caused to you.

When connected to AVG Secure VPN, you may experience problems while trying to send emails from email client, such as Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird or Apple Mail (Mac). AVG Secure VPN has no impact on email behavior if you access your web based email account via an internet browser.
If you are using an email client, configuring outgoing SMTP server settings in your email client to use the port 465 or 587 and SSL/TLS encryption usually solves the issue.
Click this link for instructions to apply these settings.

Regarding your banking website, some banks detect VPN connection and block the traffic which is not an issue with VPN application. I'd request to contact your bank's technical department and clarify this.
If you need anything else, do not hesitate to let us know.

Thank you for the information.

Try to change the SSL and check if it works.

Regarding the popup, please share us the screenshot of the popup to examine further.

Credit card website are related to your bank. Since your bank website is not affected. Let us try to change the location and check for the issue again.

These are few banking websites that will work only through Peer to Peer VPN connection. AVG VPN allows peer-to-peer connections through our data center locations listed below:

* Prague, Czech Republic

* Frankfurt, Germany

* Amsterdam, Netherlands

* New York City, New York

* Miami, Florida

* Seattle, Washington

* London, United Kingdom

* Paris, France

You can use any one of the above servers in AVG VPN and check if the online banking website works.

Keep us posted.

I cannot send ANY email with the VPN on, and it seems to be the IP address.  They claim I have sent out spam, or something like that, on the error message I get.  I even told them I had not done that, but it did not help.  I also could NOT get on to my credit card website…It just kept telling me that they were working on the website.  I had to turn the VPN off to send  email replies, and guess once while it was off I tried the credit card site to see if they had finished working on it, and it opened!  With the VPN on, it still will not open.  That is how I found out that the VPN was causing the problem.  I had even called them on the phone, because it was days and days of trying, and they had no information to give me, or questions about a VPN I might be on.  They thought there really was a problem on the website, and could not tell me when it would be fixed.
I had put it on my husband's computer because he trades, and had to remove it, because it made his trades hesitate, which let the stock change points by the time his buy or sell went in.

I had to just uninstall the VPN from both computers, but it is part of my package, so I am still paying for it.  I was assuming it was any VPN.  Is it just the AVG VPN that causes these problems?
