Chrome works successfully.
I can directly access the banks the cards are issued on, and make bank transfers from inside their site.
It is when I am redirected for bank verification of my card transaction it hangs.
For example paying my monthly Barclaycard credit card balance owing, on the Barclaycard website, using my Lloyds Bank debit card. It Hangs.
I don't have any payments to make at present, and I am not keen on entering card details with security off.
Uninstalled AVG, turned Windows Defender on. All problems solved.
As stated compatibility problem with Firefox & AVG.
Anti Virus Gifford was a top rate program. Avast AVG I would question.
Tried making a nominal £1 payment to Barclacard on their website.
It did not work with Web Shield on or off.
My monthly Barclaycard statement has yet to be issued, so my balance to be paid shows a zero. It might be possible this caused rejection.
The card validation screen was hung in the familiar manner.
I don't have any payments currently needing payment.

In Firefox is this an AVG problem?
Making payments for goods by card. The details filled in & proceed clicked. The screen goes to authorisation page, then hangs there.
Is the a AVG Firewall or third party cookies from the bank the problem?
Help on how to solve please.

To narrow down the issue further, I request you to enable AVG and disable Web shield component and check if you are able to access the website in Mozilla Firefox.

It does not look like AVG is causing this issue, please clear cookies from the web browser and check. If the issue persists, please contact your bank or card provider.

Please try disabling AVG from the article below and check if you are able to access the transaction page in Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox.

I would request you to update your Mozilla Firefox browsers and check it further.
Turned off AVG. Went to Firefox & Chrome both working.
Not sure what is meant by Transaction page
Opened Firefox and opened AVG Support page.
AVG is on automatic update. Checked for updates.

When this problem arose I contacted Barclaycard with the problem. Who did a thorough research, and stated it was & just a few others getting this problem. I believe the few others are Firefox & AVG users.
I have been using Chrome to make payments to Barclaycard. Using Pay Pal for other purchases, so it took a while to show there was a problem with Firefox not Chrome,.in making card card payments. Any debit or credit card, different bank issuers, payments to different organisations.
A while ago Firefox was issuing warnings of AVG Firefox comparability issues, and this has to be one of them.
All cookies & history are automatically deleted on close of Firefox. CC Cleaner is used very regularly. Firefox gives far greater control over privacy, Chrome is a data gatherer.
It is my firm belief that the problem lies with AVG comparability. I have been a user of AVG & Firefox since 2000, if the issue can't be resolved, it is Firefox I shall be sticking with.

May I know the AVG programs installed on your PC?
Have you tried accessing the website in alternate browser? If not, try accessing it and check if you see the same error message.
Try disabling AVG and check if you are able to access the website in Firefox.
With the below information, we will be able to narrow down the issue and assist further.
Turned off Webshield and stil able to use Firefox to open AVG Support page.
