I ran a driver scan and now the pop-up to buy the software won't go away. I'm not going to buy it. I downloaded the drivers I need.
I have turned off everything I can in AVG privacy settings. That hasn't worked.

My question wasn't about closing but getting rid of it forever. I did finally figure it out. There is a menu with settings. In there are settings to stop the popup, stop the scan(then it won't have anything to report) make the schedule "never" thanks for your help.
