We are sorry for the inconvenience. AVG has updated its Antivirus program to 2017 version, since the updates can be accepted only by the 2017 version program. Please check this link http://www.avg.com/en/signal/avg-evolved-the-future-of-antivirus to know more about the new improved features of AVG.

Hi Jane,
We are glad to inform you that, AVG users are protected against WannaCry ransomwsre. We have a blog post from Avast side with more information https://goo.gl/OQa2iU. Please be informed that the Free version of AVG Anti Virus will update automatically once in 3 days. We suggest you to try repairing http://avgread.me/1BVxDSY the AVG and AVG Protection and check once.
Thank you!
Normally my AVG Free Edition updates automatically – and I am prompted to restart. But something different happened this time. I did not receive any notice and this morning it wasn't until I clicked on the tray icon and brought up the full interface that I saw 'AVG is out of date!' – and the 'Update now' button was highlighted in red. Moreover the interface was different than the one I normally see (though I haven't checked it in the past few weeks). Due to the vast number of Ransomware hackings in the past few days…I want to make sure that AVG has not been compromised and that this wasn't a 'spoof' or hijack – before I click "update now" . Also – has AVG Free changed policies and is no longer updating automatically? It would be good to know since then I'll check on a regular basis.
I've had the same on 3 different computers and before the resent ransomware attacks. I've updated manually and all's been ok. For some reason the auto update doesnt seem to work!
