Have I downloaded a virus?

On my other computer a PC, I downloaded a  free add on for Office - Word called "WordKutools.Setup 0014" and I think I have downloaded a virus with it. I keep getting a row of repeating xxxxxxxxxxx even when I try to log off in the start menu. A row of 'mmmmm' have appeared under the AVG Internet Security box as if it was a lower extension. Can any one help me? I deleted the Kutools program.
