Have been using basic free AVG for years. Have recently upgraded and paid a 2 year subscription. Since then, if I leave my computer on overnight and then return to it, I have to restart it in order to re-connect to my wifi. Is this the price to pay for extra security?

It would be helpful if you could provide us with few information. Do you have any VPN applications or third party AntiVirus programs installed on your PC?
Please make sure that you configured the Firewal settings as recommended and verify the status.
Open AVG - Menu - Settings - Full protection - Enhanced Firewall - Enable Internet connection sharing. Additionally, click on System rules that is available in the same page & enable all the tasks. Please change the network profile from PUBLIC to Private which is also available on the same windows.

This appears to have worked. Sorry for the delay in replying as I did have to restart it twice since I changed the settings, so I needed some time to check if it was consistently (or nearly) working and it is. Many thanks.
