dear Alan AVG Guru,
Instead of berating Alan because he "posted his query in the wrong area! It should have been located …" (…which smacks of treating him[us] as incompetent idiots), it would be nice to see a simpler answer like maybe, "Please try this/these articles < https://avg-community.force*.xxx > or <http://forums.avg.yyy… >. Hopefully, one of the recommended will actually Answer or "Help" him with the problem he came Here* for…!
The main problem with getting any 'help' from AVG* is the exhausting procedure non-members & Members alike are forced thru to try and Get* an "answer" to ANY question, if it's not already in the FAQ's. Everything (eventually) leads us to have to Try* one of the 'forums', but no matter How we try to enter any 'Search' parameters [to Try to find the "correct place to post our query"] the Results of the "search" are "0 results matching….", 99% of the time*.
I understand the 'support team' is Greatly understaffed (they All are*) - - and the 'Contact Us' link will never allow us to contact the support team - - and, as with Most "forums", we are supposed to find all of our answers somewhere in these discussions / threads, if at all possible. I'm fairly sure the Comminity forums Would* answer ~99% of problems … IF the forum's "Search" function would simply work better.
Then, you* wouldn't have to type those lengthy replies to "posts of queries that are in the wrong place".
J Hudson quote 'How can posting a question under "General Conversation: General Discussion about all things AVG…or not", be a wrong place??'…
The initial 'What would you like to know?' search facility wouldn't have shown any articles whereas the correct area advised would have provided a lead to the article listed.

I want to uninstall it so that I can do a fresh install but every time I try it stops with a screen saying that I don't have correct permissions. and that it can't stop firewall. Is there any way I can repair the existing instellation
