I've managed to resolve the issue, a combination of right settings in the email client and initially another pgm that loads on start up. Now all sorted and AVG f/wall running too

I'm looking to replace MailCopa [MC] as our networked email solution for HmailServer [HS] and Thunderbird. Our current setup is:
File server running Win 10 Pro - This runs MC and retrieves emails from a number of email addresses as well as holding all our data
PC's/Laptops all Win 10 Pro run MC client so that subject to access rights within MC everyone can see all emails across our 3 users
All PC's/laptop inc server are running AVG Internet Security [latest version]

I've installed HS onto our server and T/bird on to my laptop and with some asistance from the HS Communtiy set it up except I cannot get the laptop to connect to HS without disabling AVG on the server which clearly is not an option.

I've added HS to the exceptions in AVG and opened ports, maybe not correctly or the right ones. Maybe that is the issue.

I've tried a number of settings on both laptop and server without success can anyone advise what I need to do in order to get this working?
