hi…tried this process three times…first time problem remained…second time new problem appeared message now reads "AVG is out of date". This is despite avg showing latest updates are installed…third time second problem remains…all green ticks on home page…plan B anyone.

avg home page shows "Protection is disabled, protection  will be automatically enabled after re-start". But this does not happen despite several re-starts. Rest of home page shows all is good with protection. How to fix is the question?
