Hi I'm having the same issue and none of the suggestions above work. I've turned off the AVG firewall and am now using windows defender and home sharing works perfectly. I would prefer to use AVG but need some asssitance.
HomeSharing with our 2 iTunes libraries used to work. Haven't used that feature in awhile and have upgraded iTunes a few times since we last used that feature. Just tried it again yesterday and while one laptop can see the other laptop's iTunes library, the other laptop cannot. Both laptops are on the same (latest) version of iTunes, use Windows 10 and are on the same version of AVG. I am wondering if an AVG setting on the one laptop that cannot see the other laptop's iTunes library might need adjusting however am not sure what to look for/adjust. Suggestions/ideas/helpful feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks Karthikeyan, however that didn't work. Maybe it assisted, but I managed to figure it out with trial and error. For the benefit of others: Menu->Settings->Components->Firewall->Customize->System Rules Under the Allow Windows File and Printer Sharing, change to Enabled.
This may be false detection from Microsoft Windows Defender. You can check with Microsoft to see if this detection are genuine or false positive.
Aaron, we replied to your original posts. Kindly check and follow the steps we mentioned there.

My AVG firewall is blocking iTunes library sharing. I switch off the AVG firewall, I can connect with iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. As soon as I reactivate firewall, blocked, and unable to connect. What are the settings meant to be for iTune library sharing? As it worked before a recent update to AVG Internet Security.

2.5 years later, I'm still having this problem with AVG blocking iTunes home-sharing. The settings interface has now changed with the AVG Internet Security 2019. Can't AVG make a default rule to allow iTunes as a safe application? I've tried several ways to add iTunes to the safe list, but the only way I can get it to work is to switch off the firewall.
