Thank you for response Karthikeyan. Download is for free version. Copy of screen below 'where would you like to install ?' field is not active.
Latest AVG installation is directed to C drive with insufficient space. How best to redirect installation even though screen insists this cannot be changed because existing AVG files are there. Original AVG has been uninstalled from the C drive
Thank You Balasubramanian.
Sadly I have tried to uninstall AVG (prior to contacting Community AVG) this change has left the PC in a sort of twilight zone with no access to AVG control panel BUT obviously some AGV files somewhere on the PC. These files presumable trigger the destination for the new downloads which as mentioned earlier is now full. All help is very much appreciated
Col, I appreciate your efforts in trying to fix the issue. I would request you to reboot your computer in safe mode with network

Hello Col,
I can understand your concern. Please initiate a new installation of AVG and before entering your MyAccount details, you can see an option "Install now", with an option to custom install. Please click on the custom install option, from the next window you will get an option to change the installation location.
Col,
I completely understand your concern. Have you tried to change the installation path of AVG Free Antivirus and faced any issue with it?
If so, please share the screenshot of it to assist further.

Thank you for the information.
The message appears because the previous installation of AVG will leave its folders on C:\ drive.
You can click on the three dots which is to the right of the path on the installation window and change the destination for installation.
Before doing that, please run the AVG removal tools as mentioned in this article: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product to remove the traces of AVG folder from your PC.
To install the AVG Antivirus free program, please follow the steps as mentioned in this article: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-AntiVirus-Free .
Please perform custom installation to change the installation path and keep us informed about the status.
