Please help me! I need this help immediately! I keep getting a pop-up saying I'm being attacked by coinhive.min[1].js, and i have no clue what that is! The only option it's giving me is to quarantine it, but when i go to the Quarantine there's nothing there! I just tried shredding the files but the pop-up appeared again! How do i get rid of this!? I keep getting attacked by something called coinhive, which AVG Free is quarantining but it is attacking every few minutes. How can I stop this?

I personally am not having issues on this topic, but it looks like Coinhive is being run in advertisements that use Java Script (Banner ads, video ads on YouTube and others).  Being that ads are placed in a browser's temporary cache, and generally refresh every few minutes on most smaller sites (like the Fanfiction site Angie was using), this might explain why the problem keeps coming up so often.  Please note that a large portion of these coinhive hijack advertisements are using open-source code, and that info should help with deterring less experienced programmers.  All credit for this discovery goes to Arstechnica and Gizmodo.  Their more detailed articles at     Now even YouTube serves ads with CPU-draining cryptocurrency miners - Ars Technica     and      Hackers Hijacking CPUs to Mine Cryptocurrency Have Now Invaded YouTube Ads

Same problem on my PC.
I will uninstall AVG now and install something else.
This problem is anoying and it is very unprofessional to not provide a solution for several weeks.

AVG version

Same here. during the last 3 days I keep getting the popup. I've been running the deep scan but it does not resolve the situation. The popup appears around 4 times per day.
Thank you,

I'm getting it every few minutes… i thought shredding the files would work, but i just got the pop-up again after i did so…

Thorsten, as you can see from the screenshots shared by other customers, AVG will detect this malicious code and alert the user.

You're welcome, Angie.

Could you also tell me when exactly are you getting the Pop-Up?
