How Do I Access A Data Safe?

We understand your concern.

Please follow the below steps and try to recover the files:

-uninstall new version
- restart machine
- install version 18.3 from offline file (x64): https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/18-3-avg_internet_security_setup_offline.exe
- Choose custom installation – check Data Safe
- right after the installation is complete go to Privacy section and create new Data Safe (should be worked without restart).

- export the necessary data and try program upgrade.

In the lastest release, Data safe feature has been removed. If you have an existing files stored in AVG Data safe, then we need to escalate the case to the developers with the diagnostics logs. I have sent you an email with steps on how to collect and upload the data required for analyzing your issue. Please check your inbox and spam/junk folder as well.

Do you have the option to access files from “privacy -> Sensitive data shield - > Please review your file?

I have the same problem the Privacy is darkend out, a message informs me it is not installed the same screen as Florian describes.I click on repair and the Privacy is working and the Sensitive Data Shield is on. After a couple of days it goes back to Privacy is NOT installed again, and i run repair again and it is working. So is this a bug ? .

Is there a way for me to recover my files from the Data Save after the update… I have 5GB worth of data on my PC that I cannot access because you discontinued a function that was supposed to keep them safe.

can you reupload the following file:
- Install version 18.3 from offline file (x64): https://share.avg.com/steam/PSP/AVG2017/18-3-avg_internet_security_setup_offline.exe 

When I try to download I get an error.

We are sorry to inform you that Data safe has been discontinued. That is why we have added sensitive data shield component in the latest version.

Do you have recover any files in Data safe?

AVG Internet Security just updated to software version 18.4.3056 and there does not appear to be a Data Safe option.  Am I having a 'senior moment' or has it been discontinued/moved elsewhere?  Help is no use as it is out of date.

Same problem here. My Safe disappeared with updating to 18.4.3056. What to do now?

Keith, I would like to inform you that the data safe component is completely removed in the latest version and this feature can no longer be used.

The "Privacy" tab shows as "Not protected" can be resolved by restarting your computer.

Hi Veeramani,

Yes I need to access files "secured" in my data safe but cannot due to it being removed and no way to re-open them included in the subsequent releases.

Please can you share a link (as above) to a version that has data safe so that I can go through the offline installation to recover my fdiles from the data safes I created many moons ago. The URL above does not resolve anymore.
