Hello Ken,
I understand that you are trying to manages the threat detection by your self and not as an automatic process. You can select "No action" from the drop down and save the settings. Once the detection is identified, you will have the options to select from the user interface.
If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to contact us again.
Hello Ken,
I appreciate your patience.
Yes, It's the same for both options. All files will be scanned and detected files will be displayed once scan is completed.
Users will be able to take action on individual files after the scan.
Thank you.
I'm certain that as recently as a few days ago, under "Actions" in the Settings menu there existed the option, "Ask" (or, "Always ask"). That option seems to have disappeared. It's critically important to me that AVG never take any action at all without asking me first. How do I assure that? Is it enough to simply uncheck "Automatically apply actions during scan"? Is that the way to do it?
Ken,
Pleased to see you appear to be sorted out. Feel free to let us know if you require any further assistance.

It looks like that's what I need. I just need to know that "no action" does indeed display the detection so that I can take action. Also, can you please let me know what effect unchecking "Automatically apply actions during scan" actually has?
Thankyou! I have to say that I like this version very much for the ability to do manual updates and I'm pleased to find that, even though documentation is not always clear, other functions are also user-friendly.
