How do I delete scanning of my E-mail account with AVG

I keep getting a Windows Live Mail Error ID 0x800CCC0F Protocol Pop3 Port 110
Secure (SSL) No and I have been advised that deletion of e-mail scanning could
erase this pop up.  Any advise how to do this with AVG would be helpful
