How do I FORCE AVG to stop being a system hog while I play my game?

There are times I come out of hibernate, and just want to play a game, but AVG Service has decided it is time to consume massive amounts of CPU and disk access to do whatever it mistakenly thinks it needs to do.

How do I tell AVG to go sit in a corner and do nothing while I am playing a game? I know I can put it into passive mode, but that requires a computer reboot, and frankly, is a little obviously a real time waster. They used to permit you to just turn off AVG for a set period of time, and switch it back on. Did they remove that?

I mean, I just really want to play my game…

We still have the option to disable AVG protection components temporarily.
Please refer this article (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Disable-AVG-Antivirus) to disable them and you can choose the timeframe or options like 'until restart'.
However, this is not recommended as if AVG is disabled, your computer will be vulnerable.
Are you experiencing any lag issues while playing game due to AVG consuming CPU resources?
If so, can you share the screenshot (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=AVG-Create-screenshot) of task manager showing CPU usage of AVG service?
