How do I get normal AVG icon to display?

Thanks for your help. Telephone support had already taken me through that route of AVG repair and it didn't work. I repeated the repair more times and eventually I am almost normal. At one point hovering over the icon indicated it was always updating although it was not. This morning my PC started up without the icon but calling up AVG 2015 reinstated it.

I have an AVG scanning icon (little triangle in the centre of normal AVG icon) in my system tray all the time but there is no scan running. If I right click it there is no Running scans to select. Even after running a scan it is still there. Everything seems to be running OK otherwise.
I have AVG AntiVirus Free Edition 2015.
How do I get normal icon to display?
