Hello John. I understand how frustrating it is to have to go through this and I regret the inconvenience that it has caused. It is to keep you informed that you might have installed the older version of the AVG Antivirus program and that's the reason you might have received the popup to update the program to the latest version. Once you updated the program to the latest version you will not receive those kinds of Popups.
For the past couple days, AVG has shown this popup to me: http://i.imgur.com/2cyrWd1.png
This is extremely frustrating, because I have system tray notifications turned off. I don't EVER want to see popups like this. I want AVG to stop trying to get me to install more things. AVG should be in the background, I shouldn't have to think about it. This isn't the first time AVG has popped some unwanted message up to me either.
How do I make this message stop?

I have AVG Version 2015.0.6086 and keep getting the same pop-up, usually when I am in Facebook. How can I determine if I have the latest version or if an update is needed? Due to concerns over pishing scams and downloading viruses, I do not accept pop-ups unless I can independantly verify the need to update.
So answer the question - how do you turn it off?
