How do I run a Malware scan when my windows defender is turned off?

I certainly understand your concern. If you are inquiring about the scanning of AVG antivirus then there is no special settings is needed to detect malware programs. The normal scanning of AVG will detect the Malware programs.
Please check for the email on spam or junk folders if it is not present in the inbox.
