Mac OS - AVG Internet Security - I cant connect to my Canon TS5100 printer to scan - it says this may be caused by my security system - how can I change AVG to allow me to scan papers on my printer / scanner

Request you to uninstall and reinstall the application and check if the issue persists.

Firstly, let us confirm whether the problem is due to AVG Internet Security on your Mac.
Please refer this https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Use-Mac-AVG-AntiVirus and turn off each components involved in AVG Internet Security individually.
After disabling, check whether you are able to use the Printer/Scanner.
If it is working, let us know after disabling which component, it started working.
