How do I turn off AVG and the firewall to download an update

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
As per our record we see that you have purchased the license for AVG Internet Security (2 computers) and AVG PC TuneUp (2 computers).
Do you mean that the AVG internet security program asks you to turn off its own Firewall to do its update?

AVG is telling me to turn of my anti-virus and firewall while AVG does an update.  How do I do that.
