How to allow windows process in AVG firewall

Hi Dick,

In this case it will be necessary to allow either IP of the remote printer http://avgclick.me/FWallow (recommended) or add esxceptions for ports. Please ask your administrator to get the IP address of your printer/server.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi Jan,
Thanks.  I think the my question is a different one.
- The Windows printing option allows others to print on my printer. Thta's why I cannot use/know IP addresses of those others
- The printer IP address would be the address of my PC.
- Windows allows that kind of printing by exempting a windows service name. Is that not possible within AVG, like one does for exemting/naming my special applications within AVG?

Windows has an Internet printing option. I have added that service (windows 7) through
control panel/programs and features/turn windows features on or off/print and document services/Internet printing client and LPD service.

This services requires enabling 2 services in the windows firewall. I have checked that
LPD and Core networking services are allowed (exempted) in the Windows firewall. I had to uninstall and reinstall AVG for that check.

Those services, however, are not listed in AVG allow services menu (advanced option). The issue is that I cannot print when the AVG firewall is active. When deactivating, the printing starts and acts normally

Could it be that I need to enable those LDP and Core services in AVG Internet security? How can I do that? (I do not know ports, IP addresses etc.)
