How to block a particular program

Hi,

I would like to block a particular program in my system from being accessed through internet. IN the earlier version of AVG, I could do this through Firewall option.

But in the latest one, even if I go through settings, firewall etc, i could not find a way to block the program from being accessed.

Need help from the learned ones,

Hello Ram,

I understand your concern.
The option to block/allow internet access for a particular program is still available in the latest 2017 version of AVG.
1) Please open the AVG Internet Security dashboard, click on "Menu–>Settings–>Components"
2) Scroll down to see "Enhanced Firewall" component and just click on it which will show you the drop-down options.
3) You will find "Application Rules", click on it and go ahead in creating new rule by adding the application to block or allow internet access.

We do not implement a major change for every program version release.
A major change was implemented with the program when Avast acquired AVG.
In the latest version, a common exclusion can be set from the settings.
Open AVG Antivirus/Internet Security interface.
Click on "Menu–>Settings–>General–>Exceptions".
If that doesn't help, we request customer to check which component is causing the issue and ask to add the exception from it.
