I had the same problem trying to run programs in Microsoft Small Basic.
Try this:
AVG > Antivirus Free > Menu > Settings > General > Turn off 'Enable CyberCapture'
The challenge I have is that some programs timeout (fail) because of the interruption.
Is there not some way to pre-scan the currently installed programs so they are marked as approved?
I've used AVG Free for years. Now, all of a sudden, whenever I run a program on my PC it pops up a box saying it's scanning the application for viruses. I write programs for a living and can't have it scanning every program I run. Can this be disabled?

We regret to hear about the inconvenience caused, please follow the below instructions to enable the PUP scan option to fix this issue : Open AVG Zen -> Click on Anti-Virus Free -> Click on "Menu" -> Settings -> General -> Check "Scan for Potentially unwanted applications (PUA's) -> OK

We understand the concern and It seems that it wont make much harm to your PC. For some scan it might take some time to finish the process, No worries the AVG you have will protect your PC from Virus and Malware's.
