How to get pass screen asking to upgrade

Then click this link http://www.avg.com/us-en/download to download your AVG program, run the downloaded file to start the installation process and follow the instructions on your screen.

Thank you for the information provided. We do understand how difficult this is for you. Please be informed that the AVG pop-up you received because, the trial version, you have installed got expired in your computer. That is the reason why you received the pop-up to upgrade to pro version. To fix this issue, you can simply uininstall the expired trial version from your computer and install the AVG Free, this should have stopped the unwanted pop-up.

I am running the free version but now before I can choose to scan my PC it comes up with a meesage to upgrade.  Tried uninstalling and reinstalling just get the same message .  How van I get past it?
